Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. One of her first Broadway performances include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh has been collaborating in projects with award-winning directors as well as actors and producers throughout the course of her career. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's current project is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the production. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main characters in the first impeachment proceeding in America in more than 100 years. Ashford was a part of two seasons of the hit CBS comedy B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin, Hector Elizondo, and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You earned her Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
